Guest guest
Hi, My niece aged 17 has just become pregnant. As if that isn't bad enough, she has many health (and emotional) issues and I am certain she is very deficient in iodine. She has multiple ovarian cysts and the father is a drug taker. She is also smoking. I have been trying to tell her mum that she needs iodine but now she is pregnant Im not sure if she should. Does anyone know if ii is it safe to take iodine in pregnancy or is it better to have diet containing it? It is early days but obviously, I am very concerned for this baby. Interestingly, her twin brother has had shingles twice. I think this is very unusual for someone so young though he is at college & has a very poor diet Thanks, Adrienne.
