Guest guest
My first suggestion Marie would be to leave it until after Christmas as this time of the year can be stressful enough without putting any added strain on yourself/your adrenals. And also, of course, there is more of the naughty food around to tempt us and it can feel particularly hard not to be able to join in with what everyone else is eating. My second suggestion would be to ease off the forbidden foods come January and cut them right down to zero and then take the Fluconazole (sp?) so that way your candida levels will be quite low and there will be less die-off as a consequence. Get thee some Milk Thistle if you do not have any already as this herb is wonderful for the liver and your liver will be overloaded once the candida starts to die and it is this that causes of the feelings of grottiness so if you can help the liver along in this detoxification process then you will feel less burdened by the effects of the die-off. I have molybdenum which is good for die-off too. You may find the die-off is not that bad as it varies from person to person. Remind me Marie, what did your candida test results show? Guest guest
Hi Marie Go to our website www.tpa-uk.org.uk and click on Hypothyroidism - then Associated Conditions - and then Candida. Read everything we have there. Also read everything in the FILES which you can access from the Home Page of this forum web site. luv - Sheila Were there any supplements you found particularly beneficial? I'm looking at Threelac and an Oxygen product and of course, they're all so expensive! I also read about taking some sodium bicarb (ie baking soda) in water each day because it help alkalinise the body which makes it hard for candida to survive. Any tips gratefully received. thanks, Marie

Guest guest
Hi Mo Thanks for the advice; its very sensible. You're probably right in saying I should leave it till after Xmas. Xmas is going to be stressful enough so it'd be more sensible to wait until its over and done with. I'll stock up on the milk thistle in advance. I didnt do a test yet; I did the spit test, and the questionnaire in the Files section. Its been in the back of my mind for a while that I may have it so at the moment I'm working on the assumption that I probably do. £££ is tight and I'm loathe to spend money confirming what I'm already pretty sure of. Just another thing to factor in eh? thanks again for the tips Marie
Guest guest
Hi Marie, I did the Candida protocol for three weeks. It was not that bad apart from I really craved fruit juice the first week or so. I was apprehensive about taking the Fluconazole but it just gave me a bit of a headache. To be honest because I was off t4 for 10 days previous I don't know if some of my symptoms were due to that or Candida die off. You may find things a bit tasteless as I did for example porridge with oat milk for breakfast, you would be surprised it does taste almost sweet after a few weeks. Try plenty of fresh herbs for flavour such as basil and olive oil, with salads etc. Get as much garlic down you as you can thats very good, try with salad with toasted pumpkin seeds and olive oil (quite tasty!) Soft boiled egg with ryvitas spread with vegan margarine for brekkie is good. Some people do think you need to avoid milk products with the anti Candida diet. Watch ingredients, sugar creeps into so many things, as does wheat. Eating out can be difficult. If you are avoiding yeast most stock is out of the question. Good luck HOn, read the Candida file on here.
