Guest guest
Hi all - have been on LDN for 220 days. It did not helped me at all with my nighttime bladder frequency issues. (At 120 days, I was still up 4-6 times a night to pee) A few months ago, I discussed this problem with one of my compounding pharmacists, and she recommended I try an amino acid called L-Arginine. At the time I posted here about it. After about 3 weeks of using 500 mg x 3 times a day - my nighttime frequency issues went away. I sleep through the night, except if I forget to take my L-Arginine. (I am down to 500mg x 2 a day now - working good,) I love the stuff. HOWEVER - L-Arginine is a immune system strenghtener - so, by conventional wisdom, it should be bad for us MSers. Works for me - but you would have to do your own research and decide for yourself. I know that others have tried it, some with good results, some were not happy and quit. But wanted to share what I have learned works for me because a good night's sleep is gold in my book! If anyone has any question, feel free to email me direct and I will share what little I know. Guest guest
Hi Yes, when my candida levels are high, my bladder becomes irritated and I have to urinate a lot more often. I have Interstitial Cystitis, so I also get burning discomfort and pain along with the frequency issue. I use this symptom as a first warning that I need to be more vigilant with my diet for a week or two.. I also have to be careful with acidic foods and drinks, and I have to limit my C and B vitamins, because they also irritate my bladder. So, for me, in addition to certain foods and drinks and vitamins , candida and bacterial die-off also cause the same reaction. I've found my bladder usually calms down after a few days. I'm not suggesting you or your son have interstitial cystitis! You don't mention the burning discomfort and pain that accompanies this problem. But it seems reasonable that you might experience some bladder irritation from either candida or the diet. You might need to tweak the diet a bit to find a more comfortable level. Kim M. Guest guest
Yes, when my candida levels are high, my bladder becomes irritated and I have to urinate a lot more often. #### Glad you mentioned that as I have noticed I react that way as well. I seem to get up more often during the night and it seems there is pressure and for lack of better way to describe it.......it doesn't flow out as easily as other times. Guest guest
Any (post)menopausal woman with urinary incontinence issues needs to learn about the Kegel Exercises, which are relatively simple, extremely inexpensive, minimally time-consuming, and ultra-physiologic. Google “Kegel Exercises” and you should find some helpful information that you can print up for your patients/clients. The pubo-coccygeus is one of the muscles that acts as a sphincter to the urethra, and practicing various ways of contracting this muscle. No panacea, the exercises can work wonders for many ladies with urinary incontinence who are willing to put some conscious effort into this. They may even find out how and why this muscle group has also been called “the love muscle.” Unrelated note: would folks connected with this group start considering trimming some of the total thread for each message to reduce the redundancy of the otherwise useful and supportive information? Please. I am with Su in my praise of the Quantum Alliance! There has never been a single time in the last 2.5 years of my experience that I did not get at least a call-back from someone. Otherwise, I have always gotten the very best tech support of any of the many software/hardware companies I’ve ever dealt with since the Seventies. Marshall Marshall F.
