Hi Zsuzsi,

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in your very important study. My masters is in education and my BA is in Behavioral Sciences.

I agree that the present method in medical world of having the outside expert is not nearly as effective as having the patient involved in determining and regulating there own recovery after all who knows the patients better than themselves. Best wishes to you, Mrs.Joanne Longley MEd.

The survey is completely confidential and no personal information will be stored or shared with others -- the survey is a not-for-profit project.I would be extremely grateful if you could take the survey as soon as you can (our deadline is the end of this month, November 30). We will be happy to post the survey results for all respondents to see once the data is compiled.Your participation will help empower patients everywhere to be more involved in their treatment. Thank you so much for your help! With gratitude,ZsuzsiBoston, MassachusettsP.S. -- The purpose of this research is to explore a new paradigm of treatment, which emphasizes patients' own role in their adjustment to illness and potential recovery. It is our belief that the present practice in medicine, in which treatment is typically imposed on the patient by an outside "expert," may not by itself be the most effective approach. Our ultimate goal is to empower patients to be more involved in planning and shaping their treatment. To take the survey, surf to: http://www.my-illness-perception.com.Thank you!(Please note: Although our web address ends with ".com", this project is completely not-for-profit -- neither myself nor our Hungarian project team will profit commercially from this research. Also, the survey is completely anonymous: we do not gather names, e-mail addresses, or any other contact information, and will not share any individual survey information with anyone outside of our team.)
