Nope - doesn't help. I get shingles and take high doses of iodoral. What does help is L-Lysine. If you have liquid lugol's it helps topically on the location of the outbreak. I think I read Virgin Coconut Oil does as well.

Iodoral for Shingles?

Hi,My 18 year old daughter is in the Navy and is recovering from Shingles. She is having some muscle tremors causing her to go sleepless at night. My thoughts are that since this is viral Iodine would help her tremendously. Does anyone have any feedback on this? All advice is appreciated greatly! She is home right now for the holidays so I am trying to help her.Merry Christmas!Kim

Have you ever had a problem with your muscles twitching? Not sure if

it is being caused by the meds or the shingles...

Where are they twitching? All over? Sounds like a magnesium issue.

Whenever she begins to relax all of her muscles as in going to sleep,

she feels almost an electrical current traveling down her left arm.

The rash began on her left side back. She had a huge lump beneath her

shoulder blade than the rash began. She was unaware of the fact it

could be shingles so she did not seek medical help until the pain was

excruciating 1 1/2 weeks after the rash appeared. She later found

out the lump was a lymph node full of the infection. The rash has

almost cleared now but she cannot calm the muscles to sleep unless

she takes her Vicaten med (sp?).
