Guest guest
Hi Folks, I got the results of the above test back today please have a look at the results and see if you think I should order some HC ? Sample 1 post awakening outside range 2.7 (range 12 - 22) Sample 2 (plus 4 - 5 hours) outside range 2.5 (range 5.0 - 9.0) Sample 3 (plus 4 - 5 hours) outside range 0.5 (range 3.0 - 7.0) Sample 4 (prior to sleep) outside range 0.4 (range 1.0 - 3.0) Total daily cortisol 6.1 outside range which is 21 - 41. It says on the results: AdrenaL Fatigue - Non adapted response This generally indicates falling levels of both cotisol and DHEA from excessive stimulation/secretion over long periods of time. It can also reflect the effects of exogenous use of DHEA in adrenal exhaustion states after months of DHEA supplemenation. Dr P put Adrenal fatigue is very evident here and you need full support as we planned. Dr P does not say what he means by full support I am assuming he means with the Cortef (as he said I may need this) and other supplements VIt C etc I will try to get hold of him by phone but as I cannot have my phone on at my desk at work and all of my calls are recorded (its a call centre & I do not want this call to be recorded) I am wondering if this may be a bit difficult. I may leave him a message and ask him to call hubby back, I can give hubby a list of questions. IN THE MEANTIME FOLKS DO YOU THINK THESE RESULTS WARRANT ACTION WITH THE CORTEF AS IF FOLKS THINK IT DOES I CAN ORDER SOME AND AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS FROM DR P? IF YES TO CORTEF WHERE SHOULD I ORDER IT FROM AND IN WHAT DOSE? I WILL ORDER/PURCHASE THE VIT C AND CO Q10 AND START ON VITC 1000 ONE A DAY AND Q10 30 ONE A DAY. PLEASE HELP LOVE FROM ONE VERY TIRED ALICE XXXX
Guest guest
Yes Alice, I would say you most definitely need hc. You can get it from www.internationalpharmacy.com, they sell Cortef in 10 mg tabs and Westward hydrocortisone (a generic) in 20 mg tabs, the Westward is a lot cheaper. Guest guest
Dear very tired Alice. I got the results of the above test back today please have a look at the results and see if you think I should order some HC ? Sample 1 post awakening outside range 2.7 (range 12 - 22) This result is VERY low. Your cortisol should be at its highest in the morning. Sample 2 (plus 4 - 5 hours) outside range 2.5 (range 5.0 - 9.0) - Again, this hasn't budged. You must feel pretty awful in the morning. Sample 3 (plus 4 - 5 hours) outside range 0.5 (range 3.0 - 7.0) - Cortisol should lower during the day, but this is far too low Alice Sample 4 (prior to sleep) outside range 0.4 (range 1.0 - 3.0) ..and it should be lowest when you go to bed, but again, not this low. I can't remember what Dr P recommended when you saw him but these results definitely indicate that you DO need HC and I would buy some as soon as possible. Also, if you read what Dr Thierry Hertoghe recommends on the message I have just posted on HYDROCORTISONE, perhaps you should also get 25 mgs DHEA. You can buy this from www.pharmwest.com - they have an office in Ireland. Telephone Dr P in the evening, he will understand your difficulty with using the phone at your work. I would recommend using CoQ10 at much more than the daily recommended dose. You need to start with around 300 mgs and you need about 2/3000 mgs Vitamin C. You can also use liquorice tincture or liquorice root and make yourself liquorice tea (or even chew the root) and boost all of these with Siberian Ginseng. All of these are excellent supplements to help boost the adrenals.
Guest guest
Cheers Mo, I have just ordered 50 5mcg and 100 10 mcg Cortef from Int Pharmacy and am getting Vit C & Q 10 (half price offer until Thurs!) from Holland & Barrett tommorow. I have left a msg for DR P to call me re the Hc treatment as I have no idea what to do, although I think I will need to stop t3, t4 and NAX for a bit before starting Hc and start the HC on low dose & build up gradually. Sooo blooming tired... Here's hoping for better health for the New Year.
