Guest guest
MARY!!! So good to see you here!! I know you've tried to educate me on this thyroid subject in the past, but I just couldn't grasp it all. Now that I'm possibly looking at a biopsy, my anntenna's are finely tuned and perked up now!...LOL I'm debating on whether or not to go through with the biopsy, or to just start on the iodine and then get tested again to see how I'm doing. I have no idea where to begin as far as how much iodine to start out taking. I went to the Health Food store yesterday and took a look at their iodine and they had 2 different off the wall brands that I was not familiar with. They did have the Iodorol in pill form, but I wanted it in liquid form. So I talked to the manager and they are going to see if they can special order it for me. I figure it will be cheaper for me to pick it up from there than it would be to pay shipping charges. She is supposed to call me tomorrow to let me know for sure if they can order it. I talked to my parents about it and they both want me to put them on it too. If a person is HypER thyroid, can they still take iodine? I just read yesterday that Parkinson's patients are usually hyperthyroid, which sounds like my dad who has Parkinson's. He is wanting me to put him on it too even though he does not understand anything about it. He trusts his little girl!...LOL But I need to make sure I know what I'm doing before putting him on it. My mother is hypothyroid and has Hashimoto's. Now I'm beginning to wonder about the bromine detox. I'm not fully understanding what that is all about or what to do about it. I've heard large doses of vit. C is needed during this process, and I've heard taking Celtic Sea Salt is needed. I use Celtic Sea Salt for seasoning, but I can't deal with taking it in water. I've already tried that one and gagged on it. So if someone can give me some guidance on that one as well as how much iodine I need to start out with, I would greatly appreciate it. Blessings, Rhonda Re:Rhonda/ Lugol's Iodine and Magnesium Oil Hey Rhonda.... V here. I have had wonderful results since starting iodine. Being I have hashimotos I started out with Lugol's on my skin and graduated to Iodoral and now up to 3 tabs (37.5 mg). It has taken me almost a year to reach this, due to bromide detox. I have to tell ya, an ovarian cyst that I have had for years (I'm post menopausal), is starting to shrink, and breast thermograms are also improving. Before you couldn't have paid me to take iodine. I would get what I call the pricklies after eating shell fish or even taking a multi with iodine in it. What I thought was an allergy to iodine just probably turned out to be bromide detox. Now I can take iodine in any form and it doesn't bother me any more. Just thought you might be interested. I'm still fighting lyme disease though but getting better with that also. V>> Now THIS is what I've been looking for!! Thank-You so much VJ for sharing > your testimony and including what you have been doing. This has convinced me > to give it a try! I am even going to get my mother on it as well. She too is > hypo.> Wow! I am constantly amazed at what we learn on these message boards! The > heck with doctors!
