Guest guest
I do believe that you and your doc are talking past each other because " thyroid " has a double meaning. Does it pertain to the gland or the whole thryoid related realm. The tests pretain to the gland, but the symptoms pertain to the whole realm. So it is quite easy to have symptoms and still have normal tests, particularly since the peripheral metabolism tends to isolate TSH from peripheral hormone reception -- which is not a recognized cause of the symptoms of hypothyroidism.... If your TSH, fT3, and fT4 are normal, then I suggest I an rT3 test to inspect the possibility that the T3 is not being used and the constant pouring out of T3 is being converted to rT3 instead of T3... Guest guest
Hi -Jayne The lump may be a lipoma; sodium valproate can cause them. Sodium valproate may also cause the thyroid function to go down. If your lumps are 'just' due to low thyroid and/or antibodies, might the doctor not take a slight interest in them? If you can swing it to take a male companion along to the next appointment, ask the same question and get your male companion to repeat it as though the doctor appears not to hear your question (my results? )....and then emphasise that you thought the doctor was going deaf, so you brought someone along with louder voice. best wishes Bob > > Hi All, > So finally went to get my results from the Dr's but got into the > usual no information, impossible to talk to situation. > I had my TSH test in July which at the time I was told was 'Normal'
