But I am the only one in the Ms group that I belong to that is on LDN who is doing real good. I have my Revia Naltrexone crushed and encapsulated there. The other people are getting naltrexone powder in capsule form. Hi I have a question about fillers. The pharmacy I use uses a suspending formula called silica gel. It is not really a filler but helps make sure that each capsule gets the right amount in it. They say it is quick release. Does anyone know anything about this. It cannot be utilized by the body and also deplete magnesium out of the body. People with ms are usually deficient in magnesium calcium carbonate also throws the intestinal flora out of balance. Please don't quote me on this because one of the compounders doesn't agree about the carbonate but for all who are interested research it and see what you think.I The depletion of magnesium from the carbonate could also contribute to restless leg syndrome, cramping or insomnia. Guest guest Posted April 6, 2005 Report Share Posted April 6, 2005 I just called Irmat's to see what they had used as the filler in my husband and son's recent scripts for LDN--they said it was calcium carbonate. I had them change it on their records to use only lactose from now on. Thanks to all of you who have written on this topic to highlight the filler as an issue.
