Guest guest
I read the messages about this and thought Wow! In 2004 I was pregnant for the first time, when I got severe pre- eclampsia at 6 months. I was hospitalised for 2 weeks, and my little baby boy was born at 26 weeks. He survived for 11 days, but in the end was too small to survive. That was in the March. In the October I became pregnant again... During my second pregnancy I noticed my breathing had become " disturbed " but put this down to the pregnancy itself.I discussed this with my doctor after my daughter was born in 2005 and told him that I felt as though I had something blocking my throat /back of nose area, but even without examining me he told me that it was due to my smoking and there was nothing wrong with me. 2 years later the large goiter was discovered during a neck massage, and within 6 months I had my thyroid removed completely,( almost exactly 1 year ago). I have often wondered if there was a connection between the pregnancies/pre-eclampsia/thyroid.... Guest guest
Hi , It is very worrying having pre-eclampsia in pregnancy and I am sorry about your little boy. I was hospitalised at 34 weeks and induced two weeks later because my son was getting distressed and they said he had stopped growing at 32 weeks. He was induced and I nearly lost him. He was born with an essential tremor which is quite debilitating but other than that he is OK although it has affected him in all areas of his life, particularly at work and in social situations. I have always blamed the doctors for this because the care I received was totally inadequate. I was a lot younger then and very naïve so I did not make any fuss. I am determined that no Doctor is going to fob me off anymore now that I know my thyroid is out of sorts.
