Has anyone in the group tried Learning Rx? I understand that a few

parents of children with autism have tried it, and the results have

been mixed. If anyone has any feedback on the program, I would be

interested. Thanks.

Hi Debbie!

Glad to hear from you. Hope everything is going well for you. That is a good question about the LearningRX. I was wondering the same thing. I hope there is someone who can tell us about if it helps children with autism. There is one good thing I do remember hearing about and that is they help a child "learn how to learn", rather than teaching them education. That is the basic foundamental if they help a child "learn how to learn" than that is the best beginning.

Yours,

Learning RX from my limited understanding teaches children how to

THINK for themselves. I guess this would mean using only indirect

prompting or no prompting and giving the child processing time. An

indirect prompt example would be " Boy its getting cold in here. " when

the child leaves the door open. A lot more thinking is involved with

that statement vs. 'close the door'. Maybe this is what they teach?
