Guest guest
Hello Everyone: Please read the following update on the proposed changes in Ohio Rules. Barb "T. Mc Intee Larenas" wrote: heads up on Ohio rule changes Well we have been planning on this for almost a year and now they are going around taking public comment. Go to ODE website and link into proprosed rules. they format is poorly written I would have preferred a side by side Attorneys at ODE driving these and they way things are written AND PRESENTED is making it difficult for people to see what is really happening. They plan to REMOVE the vision statement........................... they plan to REMOVE age14 years for transition......leaving it hanging at no later than 16 years but you know districts will read AT 16 years..................... watch for the OBJECTIVEs for all kids not just alternate assessment WATCH FOR 120 days to complete an IEP HOLD them to what we have, no back sliding, because you will NEVER get it back. go to one of the SERRC public comment sessions this week and next....you can also make comments for a couple more weeks on their website....... WATCH for LRE issues, TRANSITION issues, PROC SAFEGUARDS, and be careful with wording of 60 days for evals, they are adding wording 30 days from request and 30 days to complete IEP = do the math 120 days! Ann G is pushing for that wording Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell?Check out new cars at Autos.
Guest guest
Barb,If you or anyone else want to email me (zielinski@...) your concerns/comments, the State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children has a special meeting this coming Wednesday (May 9)to continue their comment on the rules. I will be participating in that meeting so I will be able to provide those comments/concerns to the panel and the reps from ODE. It cannot hurt for the comments/concerns to be reiterated at that meeting. Thanks.
