Guest guest
I have only recently joined this group. I'm 64, live in the UK and have been hypothyroid for about 6 years. I started on thyroxine but it did nothing for me, so I began self-medicating with Armour which I buy online from the USA. I've settled on 3 grains, but my thyroid is supressed (TSH at .076). My doctor doesn't like me taking Armour but he lets me get on with it. The annoying thing is, he is hypothyroid and has no problems while taking thyroxine. I came across detoxified iodine and started taking it three weeks ago but I don't see any mention of it in this group. Is there something wrong with detoxified iodine? Also, my husband has had prostate cancer for over 5 years. He didn't have any treatment until his PSA went to 50 last year. Then he had three monthly hormone injections but got terrible hot flushes as a side effect. He had the last one in October but will have to go back on them if his PSA rises above 20. I've started to give him the detoxified iodine in the hope that he can stay off the injections. He also takes a multi-vitamin, selenium and Folic acid+B12. Would be grateful for any advice.
