Guest guest
I don't think all those Indians lived that long. I went to an archaeological site in Ohio, the Indians of that site had died of old age at 30 years old. The archaeologists noted that they ate a lot of corn. I also think it depends on which tribe, some of them ate lots of corn, some not so much. > > Why could the Indians eat corn and they were Blood type O and it is Avoid > for the rest of us? > > Pouting in Virginia Beach > > > >
Guest guest
Native Americans did not eat corn until it was introduced to them by the white settlers. Archaeological evidence shows that once the Native Americans started to eat corn, their skeletons showed signs of osteoporosis, which was not evident in the skeletal remains dated back to before the white settlers came. Guest guest
Plus, corn was readily available and when dried, stored well over the winter. Better than starving but not necessarily the BEST food for them. ~Merrill~ " Saving one animal may not change the world... But surely, for that one animal, Life will change forever... Guest guest
Actually, I think it was the Indians that introduced corn (maize) to the white man. Maize (Corn) has been in the Americas for thousands of years.. they had corn goddesses in their religions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maize and when you think about it, the base starch/grain of European cultures is usually some form of wheat(pasta/bread) or rice. kiisu -- In , Mark Nichols <mtnichols15136@...> wrote: > > Native Americans did not eat corn until it was introduced to them by the white settlers.
