Guest guest
This was posted on another list: Another amazing thing to use for shingles after you get them (hope nobody ever does!!) is the essential oil ravensara. It works specifically to reduce the pain and to eliminate the shingles. I gave a bottle of this to someone who had multiple myeloma and was very much in pain from shingles. He said it really worked. Guest guest
I don't know, I'm not the one who used it. I'll ask the original poster. Meanwhile, I suggest you search on Goggle for the keywords: " ravensara essential oil " shingles. There were a lot of hits. Lynn Re: Essential oil for Shingles > How is it used? Guest guest
Lorie, Looking in group archives, I found an earlier post about ravensara from the same person. I have copied that earlier post below. I can't answer your question directly other than to say the ravensara is diluted in carrier oils and applied topically. There is a contact name and phone number for more information. Lynn " Someone with multiple myeloma and shingles has had success with a remedy i bought for him and so i cannot help but post it with the hope that others may also be helped. It is an essential oil called Ravensara. I have used essential oils for various things, have never had shingles, but wanted to help this poor man. I know his sister from my bank and she said the shingles pain was just terrible. So I recommended Ravensara, but knowing they would probably not look into it themselves, I called Kurt Schnabelt in San Francisco who has extensive experience in medicinal uses for essential oils. He told me they had actually made a formula for shingles. Yes, Ravensara applied to the shingle area seems to really reduce the pain and he felt could do more than just alleviate the pain if caught early enough. So they made a formula with Ravensara and a couple of carrier oils. I am going to include their name in case anyone wants to pursue this: Original Swiss Aromatics. You can ask for Kurt or Monika who are the ones who really know these essential oils. Their number is 415-459-3998. I asked recently of the sister if her brother had experienced any relief from using this formula which i gave to them. Yes, she said, he is using it regularly and it has relieved his pain. For which i am so grateful, i wanted to share it with anyone else out there who might benefit. " Re: Essential oil for Shingles > How is it used? Topically, Internally? Guest guest
Thanks! Good to know!! Also, FYI shingles that are weeping are contagious. I found that out from a poster on curezone. It explains how after my mother-in-law came down with it, so did my father-in-law. Guest guest
Shingles are contagious; however, the virus is chicken pox. So, is someone is exposed, hasn't had chicken pox and doesn't have immunity, they can contract chicken pox from being exposed to someone with a shingles outbreak. The virus is identical.
