Name of Conference: ASD and the IEP: Autism Spectrum Disorders and the Individualized Education Program

Date: MONDAY - APRIL 30, 2007

Sponsored by the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence

How do we develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that serves as a meaningful guide for day-to-day instruction and support for students with ASD?

This workshop for parents and educators is designed to address the unique characteristics and needs of individuals with ASD in IEP development. Presentors will discuss how to reflect student characteristics under the Present Levels of Performance as a way to develop appropriate goals and identify needed services and supports to promote success.

YOU WILL LEARN TO:

Identify learner characteristics and needs

Match characteristics and needs with evidence-based strategies

Develop measurable goals and objectives

Identify services and supports that facilitate academic, emotional, and social development

LOCATION / TIME:

Time: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm / Registration: 8:00 - 9:00 am

Location: Education Service Center of lin County

2080 Citygate Drive - Columbus, OH

Cost: $15.00

Space is limited, please register in advance.

Although the IEP document will be used to guide the agenda

this conference will not address the technicalities of how to complete an IEP.
