Dear Sheila,

I'm new to the forum ~ what a wonderful relief it is to find such a

warm exchange of info, mutual support, and advice! I saw Dr P a month

ago and have been really struggling with the programme ever since.

Occasionally I have a better day but more bad ones! At the moment I

don't know how long I'll be able to pursue the programme because my

body has such a problem accepting enough of what it needs.

Please can you offer me some advice Sheila?

Dr P wanted me to get up to 6 tabs NA in 6 weeks, but in a month I've

only managed to take 1/2 tab a day. This has to be split into 2 doses

of 1/4 tab morn and lunchtime ~ it's the only way I can take a 1/2 tab.

Side effects are panick, and a whole range of character changing

symtoms.

I spoke to Dr P who advised adding in T3 as Cytomel. I can only

manage to dilute it and no more than 1/3 of a tab a day. I've been

doing this for a week now.

I don't like the reactions I have to the T3 ~ instantly spiked ~

irritability UP, awful to live with! I can't take either NA or T3

without food, whether it's better to or not.

My sleep is up the creak ~ awake at 2.15 a.m. on the dot for weeks now

~ maybe night cortisol is raising and waking me. Coping is even lower

because not able to rest.

Now I'm really worried because I know it's not sustainable to keep

sipping tiny bits of T3.

Also I have to be able to drive as we live in a remote country area.

No walking to shops here! After supps I can't drive.

In your experience does it get easier to take T3? I'm concerned

because if it doesn't then this would suggest I may also have a

problem with Armour, and will have to resort to good old levothyroxine

once again! Am I right in thinking this? I don't see other options.

In the meantime I'm rapidly gaining weight on the programme because

I'm now so hypothyroid, and fluid lines are running down my face. I'm

dragging myself aong and at this rate won't sustain the programme

anyway.

Any advice would be very gratefully recieved ~ you do a wonderful job

here ~ and thanks to everyone else who've shred their experiences for

us all to learn from.

Warm regards,

Joanna
