Most new things inthis field are not in books yet. When I meet with Dr. Cheney

in a few weeks I will ask him. You all might try to look at " The Cure is in the

Cupboard " at amazon.com by Dr ingramm

Hi Karma,

If your last comment was directed at me, I apologize. I was not trying

to promote Amway. We haven't been in Amway for years. I was just referring

to the color coding because you had mentioned it and I was just putting in

my 2 cents worth that I also had an interest in it at one time. I haven't

done anything with it for years and when you brought up the subject, it

reminded me about it. Sorry if I stepped on any toes. When you and Libby

mentioned what seasons you were, I was just throwing in some info. I thought

might be a little interesting.

Hi Karma,

Thanks for reassuring me. I try not to offend anyone when I respond

because, no matter how old I get, I still hate getting my feelings hurt. So

as not to step on toes, as I mentioned earlier, I will privately e-mail

anyone back with a response who has asked me questions about seasons.

Sincerely,

Abby

Karma,

Please don't feel bad. I know it's not always easy to express what we

really mean even in words because the person is not right in front of us to

see their face or hear their voice. If you feel it is okay to post info

about the seasons on this site, I will be more than happy to do so.

Unfortunately, it will have to be later because I have to go to work early

today. Again, please don't feel bad-this is just a little misunderstanding

that we have cleared up. Have a great day everyone!!

Love,

Abby

Hi Jo,

My children love the Oxygen Zoo video. I have 4 of them ranging in age from 9 - 2. They all do it each day. Some of them want to do it more often than that.

As for your bookstore, share it with the list. We are about helping each other here. If you have something that would help us and we can help you in the process, then let it go full circle. Win/Win.

I don't think we are interested in hearing about multi-level marketing things, but your book store sounds like it is right on topic here.

~Karma

Good evening everyone!I've been watching the posts about lots of great books--"Breaking out of Food Jail", "Ancient Secrets of the Fountain of Youth", "Fats that Heal Fats that Kill" and more. For those of you who are having difficulty finding these books, I have a webstore which carries these three and probably any other you'd care to find. The prices are very good, and right now there's an extra 25% off of any order thru April 30th. (There's more than books, too, actually about a million different items). I'm not sure how appropriate it is to post the site here, so email me if you'd like the address and the coupon code.I have to say I felt pretty peppy today! I ended my day yesterday with my first Lifelift workout, and started with another before my feet hit the ground this morning, and I plan on doing the same again tonite and tomorrow. Also ordered some Udo's.....I'm really pinning my hopes on this one for my little Emmy. She told me today her head always "feels funny", and I believe she's really not feeling well--she's been so volatile lately. I tried to teach her how to breathe (she's 6) and we ended up laughing and laughing! I guess I should leave the teaching to the pro--looks like Oxygen Zoo is in my future! I'd be interested in hearing feedback from anyone who's used it.Thanks,Jo

Abby,

In this particular situation, you are wrong. I wasn't directing it toward you at all. In fact, Amway never even entered my mind when I made that comment. I made that comment because there have been a few people who join these lists in the past with the only purpose in mind of finding down-lines. It is usually some kind of vitamin thing. Really, Abby, I was not directing it to you. This particular list has not had any problems with this, but some of the other lists that I am on have a real problem with this type of thing, I just didn't want it to sound like an open invitation for this type of thing.

I really didn't mean to offend anyone. I really just didn't want to get something started.

Abby,

I forgot to say thank you for the color information. I found it very interesting. On that note, I also had my colors done with a friend of mine who was also in Amway, like you said, who wasn't. Well, I somehow managed not to do that. hehehe! I have no idea how I managed not to get in on it. LOL!

My friend never told me about the personality thing either. I also got color coded by Merle Norman. With them, I was an Autumn Rose, because not only did the Autumn colors look good on me, I could wear the pastels of Summer and they looked good too.

Hi Karma,

You're quite welcome. What you say about having two seasons is not

uncommon. There are true Winters, true Summers, etc., but some people do

have two seasons. In this case, you will usually have one season that is

more predominant than another. In your case, your Autumn is most likely the

predominant one. Some people, however, are equally strong in two seasons.

As to the personality traits, these are just common traits that were

found over and over in each season. Also as to the patterns in the eyes, we

had a magnifier with a light that we would shine for a few seconds into the

individual's eye to look at the patterns. For instance, most Autumns have

golden eyes with possibly some green. There is usually present what is

called an Aztec pattern. This is a jagged look, kind of like a thunderbolt,

or a zigzag, that surrounds the outside of the pupil. The reason why I

really enjoyed this particular author's principles on color coding is

because we had to do about 4 different tests on a client to narrow the

season down. You might have two or three different seasons showing up in

your eye patterns, so that would definitely call for further testing. It

was fun. We would then apply make-up with a really dramatic drape of that

season around the shoulders, and the effect was great. I'll shut up now.

See what happens when I get going?

Love,

Abby

Hi JoAnne,

I saw that Karma answered this for you already, but I wanted to tell you how terrific it is that you have taken to Life Lift like this. I am certain this will offer you so many wonderful benefits. I love the name Emmy, that is my youngest granddaughters name. Your Emmy will love the Oxygen Zoo since one of the positions is called Emmy Elephant. As for her little fuzzy head, I think the UDO's should be great. They have some Evening Primrose oil in them.I have done a great deal of work with children and often used Oil of Evening Primrose for them. My oldest granddaughter called them Princess pills, and would pop one between her teeth when she was small. They are very good for hyperactive children and calm mood problems, so my little one would take them to keep her emotions in balance, that is why she thought she behaved like a sweet little princes when she took them.

Let me know how this works for her.

Love,

Rashelle

On the subject of books (which is one close to my heart):

Ditch Medicine : Advanced Field Procedures for

Emergencies

by Hugh L. Coffee

Basically an advanced combat medicine text. I took this one to Bosnia

in '95- came in quite handy.

A Barefoot Doctors Manual : The American

Translation of the Official Chinese

Paramedical

Manual

by E. Fogarty

Title says it all. Heavy on herbal rx, acupuncture but with a concise

and accurate (though again somewhat out of date) western treatment also

listed.

Where There Is No Doctor : A Village Health Care

Handbook

by Werner, Carol Thuman, Jane Maxwell

Excellent book geared towards third world paramedical personnel. Very

basic by western remote medic standards, but makes interesting reading.

Also in the same vein 'Where there is no Dentist " , which is actually

fairly handy for the remote medic to have.

All these are listed on Amazon.com

Jim

(Going to Nigeria in 5 days for 6 weeks, so you shouldn't be hearing

much more from me on the list :-)

The Harrington book, as you say Ian, is well worth a look especially the

direction the job is taking. A good book, well I use it, for warmer parts

of the world is Dawood's Travellers Health - some great D & V flow (no

pun intended) diagrams on diagnosis and treatment, also some stuff on bites

and stings, STD’s, climate etc.

Cheers

Nic,

Possibly the way you're original post was written, as you well know its very

difficult to convey tone and humour in an email...... It probable that I

misinterpreted your post.

The way you're mail came across was that you only use the Oxfords and

nothing else. Obviously by you second post you've corrected the mistake.

Something that might be worth a look, (I travel a lot too and can't carry

everything I'd like) but certain stuff is available in PDF format that you

can load on your laptop. I know the following is around

US Navy Diving Manual

BNF

Ships Captains Medical Guide (but not a lot of use)

Merchant shipping medical scales (useful on the boats)

There are also a few others, the special forces medic handbook being one,

(yet to be reviewed) there is also a whole host of protocols out there which

are useful for background if nothing else.

If anyone knows of any more feel free to jump in!

The only down side of course is the more you store electronically the bigger

the hard drive you need but most modern laptops have 20 or 30 mb which is

sufficient. Again a lot of this can be mitigated by using the internet but

not all sites have this facility.

Your comment re books gathering dust rings true, why is it when you want a

book at work its usually on the shelf at home and vice versa when you want

to look something up at home you've left the book behind....

Bill I hope you're looking after my oxfords!!!! :-)

I don't actually know most of the authors personally though I have come into

contact with a couple of them over the email, but I do know they have

written some quality material between them. Cooke, Eaton are

most definitely eminent in the world of PHC and if they've got something to

say its usually worth listening.

Hope this clears up the misunderstanding

I love Neil 's books.

I haven't read Dr. Mendlesohn's but I do have Dr. Eisenstein (Dr. M is Dr.

Eisenstein's children's Godfather) book

Don't vaccinate before you Educate it's for sale on his homefirst.com website.

It's pretty much all the same information. You can never have too much though.

Just the other day I got my recent order:

The Sanctity of Human Blood: Vaccination Is Not Immunization - Sixth

Edition - 2003 [Paperback]By: Tim O'Shea

AND

What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations

[Paperback]By: Cave, Deborah (Contributor)

Along with the others that have been recommended on the list. I agree

about The Immunization Decision: A Guide for Parents by Randall

Neustaedter. It is my favorite book on this topic, and the one I

refer to most by far. How nice to know he's a list member as well!

He very nicely corresponded with me a bit three years ago about my

concerns regarding my son and the possible " need " for a tetanus shot

after an injury he received.

Take care,

Tami
