Guest guest
bill, I don't mean to contradict you but as far as I know to receive any shots from the med. clinic you must be in military status. This has been the case for the eleven years I have been in the Guard. --- Colley <wecbac@...> wrote: > List, > Another question that has never been answered. Guest guest
Technically, all shots (or anything which is militarily) is supposed to be done in military status. If this wasn't done, this is a unit's faux pas. << List, Another question that has never been answered. How come Air Guard Technicians have to be in a military status(Annex E, Air Force Implementation Plan: Implementation in the Air National Guard, para. 3.11) rather than a civil service status to get the SHOT, after all, Technicians are allowed to take all of the other SHOTS(flu, tetnus, YF, etc) in a civil service status. Is there something here that smells a bit. Does liability sound familiar? >>
Guest guest
Myles, Understand no contradiction mean't, but I have taken several shots in a technician status to include the flu, Havrix, and others I will look up. To add to that list, we have had 4 of our technicians (2 are still sick) receive the anthrax vaccine in a technician status. Giving shots to technicians in a technician (civil service) status has been a regular practice at OKC for the 20 years that I have been there and still being done that way. After the hoop-la about the anthrax vaccine being given to our technicians which clearly violates the Annex E, we were told that technicians would not receive anymore shots in this status, but yet a tech. told me the other day that he got a flu shot in technician status just a couple of weeks ago. I understand the regs are there, but the question is, does anyone follow them? It sounds like your clinic is following the regs as they should be, but so many more aren't. Guest guest
In Maine I have also received vaccines in tech status. Most vaccines have been voluntary such as the flu shot (I have taken it once, but never again. It made me really ill.) Also, when I deployed to Guatamala I received a vaccine, but if I refused it, I would have just been deemed non-deployable and would have stayed home. There would have been no repurcussions. This vaccine is strictly political with the Generals covering their political careers and leaving the soldiers hanging out there. When the rubber hits the road you can tell where the lip service of " quality of life " for the soldiers and their families really lie at. I continue to be absolutely shocked and amazed at the treatment that the folks who refuse the shot receive. Guest guest
We here in OKC are told every year that if we don't take the flu shot we will be grounded and dealt with accordingly. I wonder what retired General was GIVEN stock in the flu vaccine company? Waye wrote: > > From: " Waye " <kwaye@...> > > In Maine I have also received vaccines in tech status. Guest guest
Especially since in the Air Force this is the Yo Fam.. Year of the family. If that isn't lip service I don't know what is. Guest guest
hi everyone, I did a patch test the other day ,my spot was gone in about 3 hrs, last night I put some iodine on 2 moles on my outer arm ,The area around the moles still has the iodine color there. I do the patch test on my inner arm usually . Would this be because th skin is thicker on the outer part ? It is going on 14 hrs since I applied the iodine. I just thought this was weird. kathy
