Iodine and insomnia

I am confused by what I've experienced and so I'm wondering if anyone else has

anything to share on this topic ...

When I first began Iodoral, it seemed like it helped my insomnia, which was

wonderful. However during the 3rd month of being on 50mg, my insomnia returned

and became chronic until I reduced my dosage...??

Meanwhile my iodine test results revealed I was still deficient. And my thyroid

test results reveal I am still hypo ...

So what could be causing the insomnia?

I thought perhaps it is the detoxing - I am taking 3500-5000 mg of Vit C and

sometimes up to 1000 mg of magnesium, as well as a complete and quality

multivitamin & multimineral supplement, and 1-2 ATP Co-factors. The salt,

however gives me problems. I do use Himalayan or Real salt in food, but can't

seem to tolerate the salt loading without side effects (has to do with another

condition I have I think - low ADH)... And Dr. Flechas said I could take

potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride if needed but I can't take that

either because is irritates my stomach (another long story)...

Anyway, I thought perhaps the insomnia could have to do with my adrenals but

they are in the normal range, according to a recent saliva 4x/day test - but in

the past have fluctuated too high at times...

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with Iodine and insomnia?

Thanks!

Marlena
