Trigger thumb

Within the last month or so I started having a trigger thumb during

the night. Now it is starting in the early evening and stays through

the morning. I think it will progress to be all the time unless I

change something. I read that it is a symptom of hypothyroidism,

gout, or diabetes.

I started on lugol's iodine maybe 6 months ago or so, I've gone

between 2 and 3 drops...mostly 2 drops. I started because even though

I use a progesterone cream I had some hot flashes/menopausal symptoms

(I will be 56 at the end of Jan.) and I did a skin test with tincture

of iodine that disappeared soon enough to be a deficiency. I cook with

celtic sea salt and some Himalayan. I don't eat enough fish and am not

partial to sushi...so I figured I was deficient...no I wonder it I

was. Most detox I got was a runny nose/cold like symptoms. I have

always been thin but no blood work ever said I had a thyroid problem.

(I am 5'7 " and 120 lbs.)

I wonder if I've caused more harm than good....may I have caused

myself to become hypothyroid by taking this dose of lugol's? I just

started cutting back on the lugol's...not taking it everyday more

because I sometimes forget to take it before 2pm. I don't know if I

should just stop or actually increase the doses? Is this trigger

thumb a detox symptom that will go away? I've been searching online

and I just read how they treat the symptoms...like with surgery or

cortizone injections. I would prefer to know the underlying cause and

act on fixing that.
