Guest guest
Hi everyone and just asking if anyone out there takes COq10 as part of their treatment protocal, but in particular relation to getting down a raised Cholestrol level. I know the connection between this and hypo - thyroidism but at the moment my father has just be prescribed statins for his high raised levels and mother and I think that there should be some other way and I sure I've read on here before that some members or their relatives take it. What size of tablet ie mg of C Q 10 is required and is anything else taken with it. It would be interesting to see then if this regime brought his levels down after an experiment of a couple of months. Look forward to any thoughts. Guest guest
Hi Yes, takes 300mgs CoEnzymeQ10 and has been for some time. His cholesterol was 9.5 - it is now 6.2. Also, his BP has come down nicely by taking 350mgs Niacin (vitamin B3) but the non-flushing kind. was originally put on statins and he had terrible aches and pains in his joints and muscles and after reading the terrible things that statins can do, decided to go the natural way. I would not let your Dad stay on statins. I think the recommended 'maintenance' dose is about 30mgs, but we are talking big doses here. I believe CQ10 goes up to 1200 mgs, but that has to be taken under medical supervision. You can buy this from www.iherb.com - this is about the cheapest source.
