Guest guest Posted November 27, 2008 Report Share Posted November 27, 2008 Hi All, l apologise in advance for going off topic with this diabetes question, but l'm just so desperate for answers l'm hoping you will forgive me. l've been on Metformin for a couple of months for my recently diagnosed diabetes and it's been a real struggle to get up to the full dose. Now though l have had problems with lactic acid, my muscles just seized up if l walked just a few yards and all my muscles just ached so much. Eventually l went to the doc and he has told me to stay off the Metformin for a week and if everythings ok then l'm to go onto slow release Metformin. Being as lactic acidosis is a serious side effect of this med is it ok to take the slow release form? l don't trust my doctor to know or care about the effects, to be honest.lf anyone has any experience of this med l'd be very grateful for advise. rubyx Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
