Guest guest
Hi all, Bit of a jumbled up message because my mind is a bit foggy today. Sorry if it doesn't read very well. Has anyone else out there experienced physical ups and downs with trying to get better from thyroid problems? Throughout the last couple of years since I was diagnosed with hashimoto's and hypothyroidism, I have been extremely determined to remain positive despite being very unwell for a long time. My condition improved quite a lot a few months ago, but then took a bit of a nose dive in mid November after a rather nasty reaction to gluten. I've been on a gluten free diet for about 10 years now, but unfortunately had a run in with a gluten free icecream cake. I thought that everything would be on the up and up again after that 'little' gluten glitch, but since the gluten episode I haven't been able to get my mojo or my energy back to the level that it was. Prior to my energy decreasing again, I was finally able to mow my lawn (with a rotary mower) and do lots of gardening. My eyes were clear, I'd lost about 6kg, could think more clearly (but my memory was still useless) and people commented on how well I looked. I don't think I still have any gluten in my system, but I wonder whether the gluten episode just set me back, or whether my continued lack of energy is because of that damn thyroid of mine yet again??? I thought I had the pesky creature under some sort of control for a couple of months. Don't get me wrong, I still feel a lot better than I used to. I even managed to go for a bushwalk last week, BUT my energy levels are lousy again and my clarity of thought has probably decreased somewhat too. Have others out there had a similar experience where you THINK you are finally getting better and then things go backwards again? What did you do to try and improve your health again? I take numerous supplements, eat healthy food, take thyroxine (can't tolerate T3 in any form), use very simple soaps/shampoos/conditioners, etc. P
