Definitely check his growth and see if maybe he's not getting enough IgG replacement. If he's grown recently, he may need an increase. Then, you need the doctor to help you figure out whether this is an infection or fatigue. If it's fatigue, he may need to ramp up to a full day in Junior High more slowly. Your doctor can arrange that. If it's infection, it needs to be treated! Don't forget that our kids still get sick on IgG replacement. They still get sinus infections, bronchitis, and gut problems -- it's just that usually the normal course or a double course of antibiotics ACTUALLY WORK! I'm suspecting a sinus infection or virus is really pulling him down right here with the start of school. Hang in there! Don't you love playing detective!!! Be sure and let him talk to the doctor about how he's feeling. It's time to start letting him navigate the medical system -- he'll need those skills when he leaves for college! It's not too early to start. Good for you for making the appointment! In His service, dale
Guest guest
hi , entering Jr High can be stressful for a healthy child. There are so many things that could be contributing factors - pain can cause all sorts of irritability or sensitivity; the body aching and fatigue could be related to an active infection, and if he was on mostly bed rest last year, this has to be a huge physical adjustment. I would recommend having his dr do a thorough check up and fill him in on all that has been bothering - the aches, fatigue, sore throat, as well as the melt down. It could be his system is on overload right now. Let us know how it goes. nancy (amanda, 17, cvid) <iamlaurasmith@...> wrote: Hello, My son is experiencing some odd symptoms. He has been complaining all last week about his body aching and tiredness. He started JR. High this year after being on mostly bed rest last year. He is in a very through PE program and all of the new kids are sore and tired, so I blew it off. He normally gets his SubQ on Fridays, but wanted to spend the night with a friend, so we put it off till Sat. He has never had a side effect from SubQ, but after his treatment, he drooped all day went to bed early. Sun morning he had a melt down because his shirt didn't fit right, and cried for a hour, missing church. He will just start crying for no reason, can't stop, and doesn't know why. I thought about hormones, but he hurts all over. At one point we couldn't find him last night. We finally found him in his room, laying on the floor, banging his head and moaning. Several times today I have caught him rocking and moaning. He has had a sinus inf. off and on since school started. His throat hurt this morning, along with a stuffy nose, and off and on headaches. My question is this. We go to the Dr at 2:45. What should I have him checked for? I am at a loss here. Guest guest
Hey all, Just got back from the dr. has a viral infection of some sort. There is a stomach virus going around with diarrea and body aches. Don't have the first! I love saying-don't guess, draw blood and dr doesn't get mad!LOL I also think he has some hormone issues going on. He acts like he has PMS! Only one of us is allowed to do that in this house, and he's not it. Hello, > > My son is experiencing some odd symptoms. He has been complaining all > last week about his body aching and tiredness. Guest guest
I have have done a bit of research this afternoon on the drug in question, it is looking to me like it is possible that: the thyroxine has not been getting absorbed because of the antacid drug which could be interfering interferes with its absorption which may be a circular problem as the acid reflux could be a hypoT symptom, there may well be a B12 and other vitamin deficiencies adding to the symptoms, the drug itself may be causing the anxiety, nausea, palpitations and other symptoms.
