Guest guest
>>My question is what else can he do to get rid of this yeast infection?<< If your father has been fighting it for years, it will take awhile to get rid of. First, is he still on Nystatin? It does need to be a long term thing, my husband did it for at least 6 months. Second, in order to speed the process, he needs to not feed the yeast with his diet. Our doctor gave us a diet my husband followed for the 6 months. I would have to see if I have the specifics, but for the first 2-3 months, he ate no carbs, no fruit, no high sugar veggies, and definitely no yeast products. He ate meat, veggies (no corn, peas, high sugar veggies ) and the one carb he could eat was white flour tortillas to have something to hold food. The doctor said the tortillas didn’t hurt enough to leave out, and they were most useful. They became our bread – you could make tacos, burritos, put eggs in them, use them for hamburger buns. Then he was able to add in other veggies, and the lowest sugar fruits, finally in the end added rest of fruits and beans and grains. While beans are very good for you, they become sugars and feed the candida, so they were avoided. He still did not east yeast products for at least 2 years. We now also use natural things to kill it off. I have a program from BioActive Nutrients to kill off candida. It includes: Psyllium to make sure your bowel is moving 2-3 times a day. If not, you are repoisoning your body with the dead yeast. A good probiotic to get the good bacteria in your body to help fight the yeast. Then 4 anti-fungals taken in an alternating pattern: UGN Caprylic Acid Olive Leaf Extract Apple Cider Vinegar The reason for the alternating is to keep attacking the fungus from different ways to keep the treatment effective. This program is recommended for 4-6 months. Also, usually once you have a yeast overgrowth, you also develop allergies from how the yeast affects your colon. These take time to heal also. If you have any more questions, e-mail me privately, and I will be happy to answer what I can. Donna in IL
Guest guest
You may want to try the Specific Carbohydrate Diet which I have heard helps with candida. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ but I think this would be better initially (Candida diet) http://www.thecandidadiet.com/ . I took Oregano Oil along with Grapefruit Seed Extract when I had issues. It is also very important to give him a high powered antibiotic. You need to promote good bacteria as well.
