'night time Armour and adrenals

Hi Sheila ( ,who asked the same questions and everyone),

thank you for kind words of encouragement with regard to the taking of Armour at night. In response to your question about my dosage, I currently take only 1 1/2 grains per day (or should I now say, night). This probably sounds like a tiny and improbable amount, but I have come to believe that I am one of those people that Dr Philip Young (recommended by B on the forum) describes as 'super sensitive'.I am this way in all things, unfortunately, ever since I had the meningitis......and have to be careful with everything from paracetamol to anaesthetics.Any kind of stimulant or depressant has to be carefully thought about. As for alcohol,well....I'm a really cheap date !

I was a bit worried about not being able to increase my Armour dose but now, through what I've learnt from the forum, the gently gently approach is required.Hopefully, once I have replenished my adrenals and found a successful way of supporting them,I will be able to increase my Armour dosage.I think that it's probably time for a visit with Dr.P....

Without wanting to ramble (oh no,she's gonna ramble now....) it may be of interest that I have suffered from completely inappropriate stress responses for the past eight years. These manifest as a purely physical overreaction in my body which feels like a shock,or when you have witnessed something sudden and shocking...or perhaps like the feeling when you suddenly see a huge spider......before I can think,my body has a kind of primal response. At this point I can actually feel my body flooding with adrenalin. My mind may be, and usually is quite calm at this point, but my body is having an experience of its own.Once 'flooded',I am then overwhelmed with either intense fear, dread, grief or anger....completely physical, completely inappropriate and out of proportion to what is going on around me.Fortunately,it only lasts about a minute and then it subsides and dissolves.

I believe this has been brought on by living in a very stressful (though very loving) home environment with my son (autistic/dyslexic/compulsive/add) who does not sleep. This has been going on for eight years. My body it seems is constantly trying to pre-empt the situation and stress....which of course is stressful.Indeed it may very well be that the adrenal problem gave rise to the thyroid condition.... though that is just guess work.I mention all this as it may ring bells with other people with similar stress factors.

In answer to you question Sheila, the support which I currently take for my adrenals (though I take quite a few other supps.) are;- Nutri Adrenal Extra x 1 p/day

Liquorice Root x 1 400mg p/day

Seagreens x 1000mg p/day

I think the Siberian Ginseng would be too strong for me (?)

Well that's my bit for tonight....if anyone's still actually reading this three hours later (soz).

goodnight and good energy,

julia
