Guest guest
, Landon is a very mellow child but his sister Ashton is a holy terror. I will tell her no and she will look at me and shake her finger and say " no " . She will also grin and do what she is told not to. I have tried popping her hand and that only works for a second. Plus, when she cries, I pick her up and love her. I just can't stand to pop her. The only thing I can use for timeout is the playpen at this point because she won't sit still in a chair for very long. She is starting to climb out of it so it won't be long and I'll be looking for something else. I truly hope this is a phase and she will mellow because if the terrible two's are any worse, poor Landon and I will have to leave the country(lol)I with you... any suggestions? Has anyone with older kids had children go through this phase and does it get better? I'm going to order the timeout chair from ABC because I'm sure that will be next. It is a little bench with timeout written across the back. I'm sure it will be put to good use. mom to Landon(ds) and Ashton 18 months --- Rusty and Medrano <rmedrano@...> wrote: > HI, Everyone!!!!!!!!! > I got a question for everyone. Guest guest
OHMYGOSH : Great minds think alike! I just received my " timeout bench " from ABC!!!! I haven't yet put it together (haven't had a minute to figure it out). Sam is starting the " temper " thing too. Mostly when he is frustrated at not being able to do something (like make a toy work, fit in a puzzle piece, etc). Not so much me telling him No. He gets really angry and cries and flings himself on to the floor (sometimes I have to keep from laughing, he's such a " drama queen " !). is the " imp " that purposely makes sure I'm looking his way as he's doing something " naughty " , laughing at me the whole time I'm saying (in my stern " no-no " voice and face) " No-No, " (btw, that's his name now, No-No ). He wags his finger back at me and says " ooh-ooh " , and keeps right on. I find with this behavior, he really wants my undivided attention. If I can, I give him a minute or two or I try to re-direct to another activity. Works sometimes. Again, any advice from you parents w/older kids, it would be most welcome.
