Lilian (and -- because I am aware you are looking for evidence to show

that suppressed TSH is the norm. for people taking any form of T3 (either

synthetic or natural). Here are some links for you to show your doctor, and if

he still refuses to look at the science - he should have his registration

removed. The first link is from none other than the now President of the

British Thyroid Association - the second reference is also recognised by a

previous President of the BTA (Toft) -- so if they are aware of the causes of a

suppressed TSH, why is your endocrinologist not aware?

If you

went back onto your previous dose of Armour and you have to have six monthly

diabetes and thyroid testing, then I would personally be tempted to stop the

Armour for a month before the test was due and see what the results would show.

Unfortunately

Val I have to have my blood tested every six months because of the diabetes,

and TSH is automatically requested and sometimes T4. As my

TSH does not rise very quickly even after stopping the Armour and being

on an undermedicated dose of thyroxine it only just crept in the

reference range.

I

am seeing the diabetic nurse tomorrow morning and will have the results of a

cholesterol test, the first since stopping Armour which might be of interest

too.

the latest TSH and maybe T4.
