I have been on the SCD 100% for 3 weeks and something is working b/c I feel great. I found out that I have UC July 30, 2006 - blood started in July so had colonoscopy. I have 1-2 bm's now per day (use to be 4-5 and never more than 8-10 (max). Formed to semi and a couple of watery ones in-between is what I have had since being out of the hospital. Almost feel constipated. Very little bloating, no gas..........really symptom free. I have been unsuccessful

in weening off predisone. Started on 60 in Aug -2006 and then every time I hit 10mg, I would flare. Got to 6mg but then had severe nausea and ended up in the hospital where they up'd me back to 60mg but now weened to 25mg. This is the most symptom free that I have been.........not sure if SCD diet, holisitic supplements...has to be one of them or maybe both???????? Imuran I got sick off. I am allergic to penicillian so I seem to get hard-core antibotics when I have ended up in the hospital. I am scared to try 6mp and refuse to do Remicade. I hate medicine and my GI doctor thinks I need to have my colon removed (she is a doctor in training at U of M). So, this is what I think to be "my last shot" before considering surgery so I am prepared to give it ALL I have..........that is why the diet has been manageable for me, I

think. I did raw veg's in blender (do not have a juicer yet) yesterday and all seemed okay. My bm today was semi-formed and more than normal and not bloated today so it seems like it did me good but I clearly do not want to aggravate my system and all I have right now is a blender. So, what do you think? I deprived myself of fruits and veg's for the 1st 6mths so I really am loving them all and like them better blender so I don't worry about them getting stuck. thanks for listening!!!!!!!!! For the school records on immunizations: When choosing not to have your child immunized you can get adoctor's order stating that the child should not be vaccinated for medical reasons. The school will have to honor the order.
