Guest guest
Hi Miriam, If I had breast cancer I would definitely look into diet Research Here is a wealth of studies on cancer and diet. Macrobiotics and Cancer ... Macrobiotics and Cancer ... Research on Cancer and Macrobiotics ... www.kushiinstitute.org/html/research.html I know a little about Macrobiotics and I would research into how this could help. I found this link from typing in Breast Cancer and Macrobiotics into Search engine. A friend of mine did a course about macrobiotic cooking in Switzerland she cooked some delcious things, this was my first intro to macrobiotics. Oh and a camp called One World which I went to with a friend down near Bournemouth. I hope this is of some help. Guest guest
I too would second macrobiotics as a tool, but it is not just a diet. Remember also that Kushi's wife (who wrote a very good cookery book on macro) diet of cancer. Some say because that things were not that happy at home and that Kushi womanised. Still the macro diet is a good diet to follow for a while in clearing out the body. I did the 3 year macro course years ago & followed the diet for years. Another place to look would be dr hulda clark (google), specifically as a start the parasite & other cleanses, but she has written some good books which are a must. Guest guest
Also on the topic of diet, she might find a modified raw food diet helpful. There are some interesting stories of people curing serious ailments by " going raw " , which is defined as making their diet at least 50% raw and organic. Many people go the whole way and eat only 100% raw organic fruit and veg. It seems to work very well for some people, and I tried it for a while. Its a controversial issue and the authors who are proponents of the raw food diet can sometimes be a bit evangelical. I personally believe that we need some animal foods in our diet (the need for B12 and cholesterol springs to mind) but I also know that for some people it definitely seems to work. One of the more popular authors in the UK is Shazzie (www.shazzie.com). Her book " Detox Your World " is a very good read because it covers everything you need to literally detox your world (from the reasons to eat organic, to using chemical free products in the home and in your cosmetics and so much more). Her slant is of course, why you should adopt a raw food diet and there are many recipies etc in the book, but its not just about what you eat. Anyone suffering from any chronic illness should probably " detox their world " in order to give themselves the best chance at recovery.
