Guest guest
_____ From: Debra [mailto:debrafduncan@...] Sent: Friday, December 05, 2008 10:20 AM Subject: Blood Type thing and a box of corn flakes Why do some people think this stuff if flaky? I know I told my mom I thought I might be allergic to yeast (before I happed upon BT and now think it is wheat) and she says it is all in my head. My cousin, who is worse off than me with her fatigue, completely ignores my advice to try to stay off wheat for a few weeks to see if that helps her. A friend of mine told me that most people would find this flaky. What's flaky about it? It's not like we are bowing down to some statue with a fat belly (no offense to anyone - I am actually Eastern oriented in spirituality, just being funny). To me, it's pure science. Food is our medicine. If something is wrong with us, take a look first at what we are putting inside ourselves. Thanks for letting me vent. Guest guest
Flaky? Yeah, I know what you mean. People are aghast that my husband and I are on the BT diet and have been for over two years. We have checked ourselves out on almost everything and D'Adamo seems to be right on as far as our BT's and diet are concerned. We are thriving and losing weight, yet if somebody asks us how we got where we are and we tell them they are absolutely aghast! It is amazing to see the lack of understanding on their faces. I figure if they get sick and tired enough, then they will listen....maybe. HOWEVER, I have a cousin with fybromyalgia (spelling?) and I think she would rather eat a pan of worms than change her diet to the BT. Three years ago I had an A1C (blood sugar test) and it was 6.8, nearly diabetic. The doctor had a hissy fit. After going on the BT diet, my A1C is down to 5.6. When I saw the doctor this week she told me that I would do well counseling other pre-diabetic patients and helping them lower their blood sugar. I didn't tell her that I was sure nobody would listen to me OR be willing to give up grains, potatoes and so on. Well, whatever, it works for us and we can only hope the others get it someday. And be there if they want support. Have a good day. Maureen ________________________________

Guest guest
I think perhaps anything that is not part of the cultural norm makes people raise eyebrows. I find this sad. People have bought the idea that we are to be cogs in the machine of " society " rather than individuals who can discover, create, have freedom, ideas.... Stepping out of the norm takes courage, at least at first, or it takes being so sick and desperate that the will to live makes one ignore " being different " . But honestly, once you try and verify the benefit for oneself, it does get hard to understand why people believe they already have all answers in their hands and don't need anything else. They cause so much trouble, it is easy for me to avoid them. I eat sweet potatoes and acorn squash and have no problems with them. Guest guest
Do not worry about venting. It's not like you are going overboard. People who don't know the difference and have never experienced it just sometimes feel this is just another diet. Well, if they do come around after seeing the difference in you, be glad that they did. It may take a while for them to notice that it isn't just temporary. > > > > > > _____ > > From: Debra [mailto:debrafduncan@...] > Sent: Friday, December 05, 2008 10:20 AM > > Subject: Blood Type thing and a box of corn flakes > > > > Why do some people think this stuff if flaky? Guest guest
I think because wheat is mentioned so much in the Bible. " We will go rejoicing bringing in the sheaves. " Plus the USDA food pyramid bursts at its seams with grains. Some woman emailed me from a job forum board and we were exchanging stories, and she said she had been out of work for years due to rheumatic arthritis. I remember reading something about wheat and that so I told her about the wheat intolerance. She said she had been diagnosed years ago with wheat allergy but didn't like the taste of non-gluten bread. I don't get it! So you are going to suffer for years, not be able to work, b/c you don't like the taste of non-gluten bread? In my opinion, we (Americans), don't know how to cook unless flour is involved. Come over to my house and I'll cook you a meal you won't forget without flour! _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of E.Andersen Sent: Friday, December 05, 2008 4:12 PM Subject: Re: FW: Blood Type thing and a box of corn flakes Hahaha, when I told a friend of mine that I avoid wheat, she look at me as if had lost my mind and said: " but it's the staff of life " !! Poeple never seem to get it that most illness in this society is caused by this totally altered grain. Science at work, LOL
