STEPS consultants utilize treatment modalities that are based on principles of ABA, including Applied Verbal Behavior and Discrete Trial Therapy. Treatment consists of 2 main components; clinical programming to increase skill development and behavior modification to decrease maladaptive behaviors and increase desired behaviors. STEPS consultants are data driven and look at the needs of each child individually when developing clinical programs and behavior management programs. With that said, STEPS typically utilizes the ABLLS assessment to design a program for that individual child. In addition to their outreach services (i.e., home programming), they offer social skills groups and are in the process of opening a center-based program in Berea.
