Guest guest
--- Wow Gracia, isn't that 4 Iodoral? Isn't that rather a lot? What do most people here take? Could you explain maybe why taking more would help? Thanks you and your advice s much apreciated :-) In iodine , Gracia <circe@...> wrote: > > you might want to try 50mg Iodoral. > gracia > > jodi2ben wrote: > > > > > > I just want to report my progress with Iodoral over the past couple of > > months and ask a question: > > > > I am now taking 2 iodoral a day and for the first time ever have NOT > > had swollen breasts this cycle :-) > > > > However, my period is several days late and my I actually bled for > > over half of my last cycle. > > > > Is this a common experience? > > > > DO you think that this is a temporary glitch whilst the hormones > > settle and has anyone else experienced similar? > > > > Also, I am now finding that my thyroid is spluttering into action. Guest guest
Hi Actually I meant to write " spluttering " LOL! Like an old engine starting up! I never know for sure about anything in my body as it is pretty unpredictable BUT I keep having to stop my Cynomel as I go a bit hyper and I am now taking perhaps half of the dose I was taking when I started Iodoral. But it's not always consistent so I am waiting to see what happens as I carry on with the Iodoral for a couple more months. I am pretty in tune with my body now but only through several years of having to listen to it and Do-It Myself! You will be too. Keeping a health and symptoms diary really helps too. How do you know your thyroid has 'sputtered'??? :-) What are you experiencing? I'm guessing some really positive things. I am amazed at how in tune folks are to their bodies, mine doesn't seem to " talk " to me at all, except thru Weight Gain! > > Good luck and thanks for the progress report! > > > > I am now taking 2 iodoral a day and for the first time ever have NOT had swollen breasts this cycle :-) > >> Also, I am now finding that my thyroid is spluttering into action. Guest guest
no I don't think it's a lot! some iodine docs think it's a starting dose, especially if you have health issues. I took 50mg a day for 2 years, finally increased to 100mg which is what I take now. I wish I had taken 100mg to begin with. IMO THE RIGHT DOSE IS SOOOO IMPORTANT, PLUS COMPANION NUTRIENTS AND ATP COFACTORS. gracia jodi2ben wrote: > > > --- Wow Gracia, isn't that 4 Iodoral? Guest guest
I have a lot more energy. No further weight loss for this past week. No change in waist measurement. I'm going to start doing some side bends with weights for my waist. I did walk today, but haven't walked much. going to try to increase that too. I am going to skip the anything you want to eat meal too. I think that is a weight loss stopper for me. -- www.bigpondaussies.com
Guest guest
I'm glad you have more energy - mine seems to be declining. At least I didn't end up gaining weight, for a while there, I thought I might. End results, no weight loss. My waist is a mystery to me. It is hard to find the 'right' spot to measure. So it is either the same or a little smaller, about 1/2 an inch - and on me that is a little. Even though my goal is to lose five inches, I really need to lose more like 20. Exercise again has not happened, except a long walk with a girlfriend last Saturday. So, I need to make a goal for the week - use less butter and stop eating by 7 pm. Guest guest
Don't get discouraged. Sometimes it is difficutl to find the key to our personal weight loss. I'm at a standstill on the weight now too. Ithink I got cocky and at too much of the good stuff. So, I will try to cut back a little. Today I'm going to make myself walk more. Wish I had a freind that lived close enough to walk with. Too hard on the gas tank to drive 15 miles round trip every day. Before you ask, she won't drive here because her husband is on oxygen and doesn't always do very well. No, it needs to be over the bellybutton. That is used for all the weight-related statistics and ratios and also gives a consistent result. I had to investigate this as I have a wrong-shaped waist :-) Namaste, Irene -- Irene de Villiers, B.Sc AASCA MCSSA D.I.Hom/D.Vet.Hom. P.O. Guest guest
OK, my belly button is no longer where it used to be! What with the excess fat floating around down there - I'm not sure where it originally started. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing that. I've made a note of it for future reference. What I am wondering about is this: supposing I have half my own thyroid function left. When I take T4 only, the TSH is not very suppressed so I still produce some thyroid hormone of my own. If I introduce some T3, that will have a much more suppressing effect on TSH. I would then produce less of my own thyroid hormone, and would need to supplement with more overall. In fact, if the TSH was completely suppressed, wouldn't I end up having to take a full replacement dosage? Miriam > > Sounds very much like my wife's situation when on 100mcg but your symptoms are worse. My wife saw an endo at that stage and asked to be put on to T3. He went along with that and prescribed 75 T4 20 T3. That was an improvement but wasn't the answer and she didn't want to go back to the endo because he had made it clear he wouldn't go higher on the T3 (mainly because he didn't really have much experience with T3 but knew all about the heart/bone density scare stories). Instead she went and saw Dr P who was in no doubt that she should move to 50 T4 and 30 T3. That did the trick. Some days she has 40 T3 if she's going to be doing anything stressful or even more when something particularly stressful is coming up that day. Most days though, 50 T4 and 30 T3 is fine.
