Guest guest
Sheila and , I recently had a complaint on another group about the long URL that I was posting in each message. Problem is that I NEVER posted such a URL, but in checking out my responses I found it indeed was there. But it was never in the messages when I clicked " send " . After doing a lot of checking I found that the long URL would be omitted if I left off the first line [subject line] of the message to which I was replying [and I always use the digest version for receiving groups]. There is some kind of HTML placeholder [or whatever] that either comes from my browser or from that was causing it. I think it is the URL of the message on the web to which I am replying. I've been leaving that line off, but in this message I've left it on to see if it might cause the problem you're talking about. In my case what I have to eliminate is the line at the top of the original message that has a little yellow rectangle with a black anchor in it just in front of the " Re " of the subject line. Specifically, I have to delete the little yellow symbol or the long URL appears; as just eliminating the text of the subject line will not do it. And I cannot delete that symbol unless I first delete the entire subject line. I thought that it might have some connection to what is happening with 's messages. If instead of putting the link [long URL] her browser [or ISP, or ] is printing the object of that link then the replies would all show in her messages although they do no show on her CRT when she hits " send " . ly, I don't know enough about HTML and so on to even know if that's possible. But if it is then could try eliminating the total subject line from her reply [including the symbol, if it shows in her browser] to see if that would eliminate the problem.
