GRANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The National Autism Association - Northeast Ohio Chapter (NAA-NEO) is pleased

to announce that it is accepting applications for its 2007 Helping Hand Grant

Program. NAA-NEO raised $23,000 in a recent fundraising event and will be

distributing those funds to local families in need of financial assistance.

Interested parties include service providers, autism schools, parents, autism

organizations, and friends or families of parents caring for a person with

autism. Please forward this information to those whom you might think would

qualify and/or be interested in this program.

Helping Hand Grants in Northeast Ohio will be provided to qualifying families

demonstrating financial need as determined by the NAA-NEO Board of Directors.

Grants will be awarded in an amount up to $1,000 to help children with autism

access needed interventions.

Examples of covered services include speech therapy, occupational, and physical

therapy, music therapy, social groups, behavioral intervention, home programming

costs, tuition assistance at autism schools, respite care, marriage counseling

for the parents, summer camps expenses, as well as medical testing and treatment

costs, including biomedical interventions.

Grants will be given to qualifying families that reside in the NAA - NEO service

area, i.e. in Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Lorain, Summit, Medina, and Portage

counties.
