Hi all, Well we are packed and is getting his bath. In 30 minutes we will be on our way to Akron Hospital. Of course is stuck on the surgery and he sounds like a broken record this morning. He keeps going over the list of what is going to happen. The next 36 hours will be touch on as he will not be able to eat anything once we arrive at the hospital. He is going to be as mad as a cat with his tail stuck in a door when he sees he has to have the NG tube placed in this morning. They have to do this to clean him out before surgery. But he will not understand nor care. We almost thought we could cancel surgery. After 7+ years of constipation all of a sudden has had 6 HUGE bowel movements in the last 10 days. We called the doctors, but

they said this is typical. Seems that people with normal digestive system can develop diarrhea when over stressed. For someone with long term constipation they all of a sudden will have huge bowel movements. It is there system form of diarrhea. So surgery is still on. I also talked to the doctors about the extreme anxiety has been going through. As with many people with Autism go through anxiety has become a way of life for and we had learned ways to help him through it. But this time it is so off the chart. The doctors said that though has had several surgeries for his legs and VNS he cannot put this surgery on the same file card. is able to understand the Ortho surgeries, because they help him to continue walking and moving with as little help as possible. He understands the surgeries and revision to his VNS because it has greatly reduced his seizures and at times,

like right now, he is completely seizure free. With this surgery he cannot understand why he needs help "pooping" when he does this already. We have all tried to get him to understand he is not getting it all out but he just does not understand, so in turn he is in anxiety overload. Well time to go. Please add us to your prays the next 5 days as we all start adjusting to this new part of our lives. We are scheduled for Monday discharge as long as Jame is doing well and Bob & I can show we can handle doing the procedure at home effectively and safely. Boardwalk for $500? In 2007? Ha! Play Monopoly Here and Now (it's updated for today's economy) at Games.
