Fundraising Tips The beginning of a new school year is a great time to connect with those you may not have seen over the summer months and a perfect opportunity to recruit sponsors and walkers! Here are a few ideas: - Bring brochures to fellow parents, teachers and school administrators to recruit potential walkers for your team. - Distribute copies of your letter to new contacts and local businesses. - Have your children hold a bake sale/lemonade stand, kid's " art " sale, or miniature golf tournament. Did you know…it is more than just a Walk? It is also a super Family Fun Day and Resource Fair This is an event for families living with autism where no one is judged and everyone is accepted. Entertainment includes famous pianist Jim Brickman signing autographs, moonbounces, facepainters, magicians, famous mascots, Star Wars characters, WKYC - TV personalities, kid-friendly music and so much more. The Resource Fair will have vendors with services of interest to families affected by autism. If you are an autism service provider and would like to have a booth at our Resource Fair you can download an application form now. Did you know…about matching gift programs? Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to Autism Speaks may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Find out if your company has a matching gift policy Thank You for your support of Autism Speaks. Walking together we'll find the missing pieces! If you have a great idea to share, or a question about the Walk please contact us.
