My 26 yr old son has had anotherepisode of alopecia and his doctor says that hair loss shows up aboutthree months behind it's cause. In my son's case we don't know thecause, but if it was stress or dietary, the doctor was asking whatchanged three months ago. Just fyi.vicki> >> >> > I just started thyroid meds about 3 months ago. Guest guest
You are on the right track. This has been my experience however, I am not sure if it is due to meno or my increasing iodine dosing as it has occurred together. Re: I've been on Iodoral for one month - hair loss Mostly I've heard that hair loss is another hypothyroid or iodine deficiency symptom, so yes hopefully it will also improve for you over time ... However I just recently read someone else's post saying that her hair loss was fixed with extra estrogen support (can mean taking natural hormones, but can be herbal or nutritional support instead sometimes). The reason this stuck in my mind was because I remember reading somewhere (sorry don't have the source right now) that iodine increases the body's receptors to all hormones (thus providing support to the adrenals, ovaries etc.) except estrogen and some people need more estrogen support when taking iodine. So I just wanted to mention this. Please add or correct me anyone out there! Marlena >> > I just started thyroid meds about 3 months ago. One month ago I> started with the Iodoral.
