Guest guest
Hi , This topic has went round and round on this forum. One camp says its okay to take Vitamin C with Iodine, another camp says Vitamin C oxidizes Iodine. Your reported experience would certainly affirm the case for oxidation. Personally, I take my Iodine in the morning, and Vitamin C later throughout the day. Vj From: Walton <ssw@...>Subject: How does vitamin C affect iodine?iodine Date: Monday, September 8, 2008, 9:26 AM I just noticed that when I put vitamin C powder into my morningLugol's solution it is turning from discolored to crystal clear. Inone cup of water I put 6 drops of Lugol's and then about a teaspoon ofSolaray Vitamin C powder. Stirred it in and the color disappearedimmediately. I do hope that the vitamin C is not neutralizing theiodine in any way. (the vitamin C powder even took the iodine stainsoff of my countertop!) It could be that the color is not affectingthe potency but I don't know enough about this type of thing. Anyideas on this?To be on the safe side I am going to take them at different timesfrom now on. I was taking Iodoral but the tablets are so hard that Idid not know if they were breaking down as needed. I started using apill crusher but decided that Lugol's was a better choice for me.
