Guest guest
Just to let you know how I got on at the Doctor's this afternoon. I needn't have worried he was VERY nice and quite charming. He reassured me that I was not a hopeless case and my levels were all quite low compared to a lot of other patients he sees with thyroid problems. He actually told me that one in ten of all the patients he sees are hypothyroid. Anyway, he has given me a whole load of blood tests to do in a months time, the full works including thyroid antibodies to check for Hashimoto's, glucose, chol,C & E's, and the full standard blood test to include my MCV count for Macrocytosis. He said he would take it from there once he had got all the results back. It did help having all the info I have learned form the forum and he could see that I was well informed! I think this is the key when you see the Doc, being armed with all the facts, because it keeps them on their toes! Anyway I do feel a lot happier now and I am going to stop worrying and reserve judgement on the NHS where I am concerned till later! May I take this opportunity to thank everyone for their guidance and support since I joined the forum and to wish you all a very happy and peaceful xmas. I hope to catch up with you all again in 2009.Take care, Gillianx
