Giardia

Unfortunately, giardia tests can come up negative even though you have

the little buggers -- although I think the blood test is pretty

reliable, I know the poo-poo test is not.

So you might want to be aware of the symptoms. Most of them are

indistinguishable from CFS/M.E., so it's the abnormal bowel movements

that would be the key symptom to watch out for. You will get stool that

shows evidence of malabsorption in the intestines -- it will be

light-colored and slimey and emit an AWFUL odor like nothing you've ever

smelled before or hope to smell again. If you have that, then you need

to keep pursuing an answer until you get one -- it might be giardia, or

it might be something like Crohn's that causes malabsorption.

Sorry to be gross, but it IS gross.
