Iodoral and high TSH

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this group but not new to iodine, thyroid, and other health issues! I

have some questions that maybe you can help me with ...

I began Iodoral several months ago, have done 2 loading tests so far and have

had 2 brief consultations with Dr. Flechas ... I'm still not saturated ... but

working on it, albeit a bit slowly since I've had some negative reactions (I've

been trying the detox things - though the salt doesn't seem to work well for

me)...

Also I just got back my thyroid test results (haven't had my thyroid tested for

a couple of years now - have been hypo for a long time but Armour as well as

other types of thyroid hormones did not work well for me - which is a long

story. I've had better luck with Iodine so far ...)

Anyway, back to my question: my TSH is higher than it's ever been at 4.1. My

free T4 and T3 are low normal (which is basically the same from before). I am

wondering if the iodine is somehow resetting my pituitary so that it is more

accurately assessing my need for thyroid hormones?? Whereas before it was low

even though I am hypo. Does this make sense? Or should I be alarmed that my TSH

is now higher? I know some of the more mainstream iodine literature says that

excess iodine raises the TSH and causes hypothyroidism ...

What do you all think? Thanks for your consideration!

Marlena
