Hi everyone!

I'd love to try a weighted vest for my son who will be 5 next month. I have no idea if he'll wear it....I have been on-line and haven't found one for under $100.

Does anyone know where to get one for less?

Thanks!

Hi ...

Sometimes the county has a service where they provide things like

that for people with special needs like your son. Just do a search

online for your county :)) It may be under the MR/DD section.

Can you borrow one from the schools? Does he wear it at school? If so he may wear it at home.

I'm sure you already tried Ebay but thought I'd throw it out there anyway. Good luck.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but sometimes hospitals will donate x-ray vests that are still safe, but past their prime. The other thing you can do (especially if you haven't used a weighted vest before) is make one. If you google weighted vest pattern you can find them, or you could just use a regular vest pattern & adjust the size to allow for filling. Then you can fill it with sand or beans (whatever weight you want it to be). Hope this helps.

Hi Tara,

You might want to try a backpack first.(alot cheaper!)

I bought a backpack that was more s size when he was little

and filled it with bottled water or canned goods.

the rule of thumb is 10% of their body weight.  It seemed heavy, but he

responded REALLY well.  When I saw how good it was working I had

my mil sew a lining into a regular jean vest and inserted the weights myself.

He is now 8 years old and I still use weights with him alot.

I see online are too big for her. & nbsp; Thanks. & nbsp; Tara
