I've seen Dr Kashif in Charlotte, NC. He will not

perscribe antibiotics.

I've also seen Dr. Speight, he does not take any

insurance plans and will rob you blind before he will

agree to perscribe anything. He bilked me out of over

$ 3,000.00 and wanted me to take 2 more tests for over

$1,500.00 before he agreed to give me anything. I got

my money back after I threatened to inform the local

newspaper & television shows of the " practice " he

runs, but the whole thing was a mess.

In charlotte, NC I did find Dr. Acampora

704-366-0080, a great and caring md.

This is strange as I know people who have gone to him and haven't had

problems. They were crazy about him.

On my sheet to send to him that I received when I was going to go to him

asked for my insurance carrier and you had to check that benefits assigned

would be sent to his clinic which in normal.

Also when I called to make the appointment, they asked which insurance

company I had which is also normal.

I am not doubting you, this just seems odd as I am looking at the form they

sent me right now.

Did Dr. Acampora prescribe the antibiotic for you? Perhaps I can add him to

our list.

Chris.

Yes, he was happy to after talking to him about it for

a while. Now he's even happier after seeing the

improvement I'm having.

I don't know if I could refer any of the half dozen or so doctors I have

been to. I went to a specialist in New York City for years who seemed top

notch...but he never mentioned osteoporosis as a risk. I had to find that

out on one of my lists. Another endo in NJ was good, but I only visited

once or twice a year and he lost my records! The one I see now in

Cincinnati poo pooed the subject of depression and other emotional

complications on my last visit, while these seem to be well documented. So,

I just haven't found a doc that is really top notch, in my opinion.

Someone asked about causes of Hypogonadism. To my knowledge, unless HH

occurs later in life, the cause is unknown. Seems strange to me that the

pituitary gland/hypothalamus would only be deficient in only one or two

hormones. I have never even heard of any research on the subject. BUT, it

does make more sense to use HCG therapy (if you can afford it and want to be

bothered with three injections a week) since it simulates the missing

hormones.

Dean,

My research found that much of the secondary hypogonadism is probably

due to the immune system. In the pituitary, each hormone is created

by specialized cells that make that hormone and that one alone. There

are many different types of cells there. The immune system can decide

to destroy the cells that make a particualr hormone - no one knows

why - and leave all the others in tact. That's how it can stop T

production but leave other hormones at normal levels. They are just

barely beginning to understand this stuff, so there aren't a lot of

answers yet. My Endo says that one of the body's reactions to stress

is to inactivate the reproductive system. If an organism is under

stress and the body percieves it as a threat to survival, the last

thing on the list to spend energy on is reproduction. That's why

prednisone can ruin your T production, because at high doses for an

extended period of time, the body reacts to prednisone as extreme

stress.

Hi ,

I sent you a non-organized list of doctors a few days ago. Also, someone

else in your area sent you an e-mail today with her e-mail address stating

that she has a doctor you can try. I don't think my list has doctors in

Sacramento area, or even in my own area of Monterey. I will forward the

message that was sent to you from in Sacramento:

" I live about an hour from Sacramento but go to a neuro in Sacramento. It

took 5 " no's " before I got a yes, so I hope you contact me. I have the

name, number etc. I can give you. Contact me at clorenzo01@... I have

had MS for 10 years and have found LDN to be the only thing that is helpful,

its been remarkable! "

Hope that helps

Hello Aletha!! I was wondering if you could direct me to a list of

LDN friendly doctors. There is a very sweet lady on this forum that

has finally had it with CRABS. I have told her of LDN in the past,

and she is very interested in trying it. Big suprise, her neuro

will not prescribe it to her. She is supposed to email me with her

city if the list of doc's is that extensive. Any help would be most

appreciated, thanks so much for your time!!

Hi Jon,

Of course. If she needs further names I remember someone pointing to a site

with a list of doctors names. I think the site was located on " This is MS "

or something like that name. My list is very disorganized as I have not had

time to sort it out. One doctor on the list may be willing to do phone

consults. His name is Dr. Weeks and he has posted on our chat site a number

of times.

Please let me know how it goes.

Kindest of regards

Aletha

Hi Everyone,

A friend needs to have her 5 y/o twin daughters assessed for autism

and developmental disorders. She was presented this list of doctors

by her insurance company. Can anyone give any feedback about any of

the doctors.

I don't want you to talk badly about anyone who may not have been

helpful, but I would like to tell my friend if any of these doctors

were parent/kid friendly and correct in the diagnosis of your

children.

Thanks for your help!
