Guest guest
Hi, I am also studying for my 14 y/o daughter who has adrenal issues, hypothyroid issues, chronic daily migraines, food allergies- dairy, gluten, etc. She is waking up in the middle of the night hungry but goes back to sleep. Then she wakes up with the migraine- low blood sugar can be a trigger.... She is on very complete vitamin/minerals, 12.5 mg Iodoral, alfalfa, omega-3s, Immune booster, and I recently started adding the extra selenium, magesium-calcium mix, and some vit-C. I am trying to up the Celtic salt intake but will have to do that on her food. I have always cooked lower salt and added more to my own taste, so my family is used to less salt than the norm. I am switching to all natural salts and will try to add it mostly after cooking for the increased value it may have then.
Guest guest
It sounds like low cortisol combined with low blood sugar. This is frequent in people who are taking a replacement dose of hydrocortisone, but may also be due to low adrenal function if she is not on HC. I used to have it periodically before taking HC. I have adrenal fatigue. Try to get her to eat something high protein low carb just before going to bed. Eggs and ham for example. Guest guest
Be careful of Alfafa as it increases estrogen and many women who have thyroid problems, breast cancer, etc have too much estrogen/estrogen dominance.http://www.sensiblehealth.com/Journey-04.xhtmlLook at the food list at the bottom of the page.AliOn Feb 2, 2011, at 11:12 AM, MacGilchrist wrote: It sounds like low cortisol combined with low blood sugar.
