If Dr Gerson had one cup a day, then I'm safe with my one cup a day. I'm

very disciplined about only one cup.

This is as good a time as any to ask. I have long thought the coffee enema

to flush the liver sounded like a very good thing to do. I haven't done it

because of my fears about how harsh it is, or not. Is it any more harsh

than a regular enema would be, or does the liver flush add difficulty to it?

and btw, Anne, I too enjoyed your post.

some things to help with detoxing when you take the iodine:- milk thistle is an herb which GREATLY helps the liver release the toxins; if you don't want to do a coffee enema- Also, there is a very good coffee substitute called Dandy Blend, made from dandelions and a couple other herbs - it is very tasty and after 7 years I finally got my husband to quit his many cups a day of coffee habit and switch, he loves his dandelion drink. Dandelion is excellent at helping to balance hormones so is good adrenal support. I' not taking any money from them whatsoever or doing ads for them, I just found it to be a good substitute for coffee, which I can't handle since the adrenal fatigue.

Hope this helps,ArielOn Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 2:57 AM, Baker <vbaker@...> wrote:

Hi ,

The coffee enema feels the same as a regular enema. However, one retains the coffee enema for 12 to 15 minutes to give the caffeine time to circulate in the liver and dump toxins. ( When I did the full Gerson Therapy years ago , this was the time I read my health books). When patients are highly toxic with cancer and other degenerative diseases, in the first few months of the therapry they are doing 13 organic vegetable juices daily, eating three organic meals(as well as natural thyroid hormone, Lugol's and other supplements) and doing anywhere from 2 to 5 coffee enemas daily depending on how sick they are. Doing this many is only recommended when patients are drinking all the juices, supplements, meals, doing the FULL therapy. Doing one a day for maintance is okay for people, but its is also a good idea to have 2 to 3 organic vegetable juices daily, to make sure the electrolites are kept in balance. A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases by Max Gerson M.D. is a very informative, important book. The complete therapy is written there by him. Best, Kathleen

It took me a few months of doing them 1-2 times per week before I finally felt my liver "squirt" out the bile. It was pretty cool. Knowing that it was finally functioning better.

Phew! I am on one cup a day. Now, does that include extra cream, sugar and

flavored syrup?:)

Question on coffee enemas: Because I am a wimp and am not on the Gerson therapy,

even though I have thyroid cancer, I am not dumping toxins as quickly as you

mention Gerson patients do. Nevertheless, is a coffee emena still a good idea,

as my iodine protocol is releasing toxins and I have amalgams still? What is

the minimum times per month/year that the coffee enema should be done, and what

time of day?

I bought the stuff to do it, but am procrastinating.

Hi Marcy,

A good time to do a coffee enema is in the morning before breakfast. If you are eating an organic diet with lots of salads and veggies, and drinking 2 to 3 organic juices a day , one can safely take one a day. If you are not doing that kind of a diet, once or twice a week probably is better. Also, a coffee enema is taken a bit differently than a water one, feel free to email me off list and I will tell you exactly how it is recommended they be done. Kathleen

Hi Barb!Sorry, I have been on vacation. Just got back. Hmmm, how do you know when to stop increasing or begin maintenance? Moderators, chime in here! I would stop increasing when having bad detox reactions. As to maintenance, if your body has healed, nodules gone and all that were problems for you, then I would go back to maintenance dose. I have never had nodules, goiter, etc., just hypo symptoms, and have been taking 50 mg for well over a year now. I don’t know if I will ever cut back. I feel much better at this dose. I have all my children on 37.5mg per day, they don’t have any symptoms, but I just want them to have a healthier life! Donna in IL Thanks Donna. Am going to increase and see how the detox goes. I have read that read that higher than 50 will be necessary. When do you know to stop increasing? Or when to begin the maintenance amount? Barb ;)> >> > Hi Barb,> > Why are you on only one tablet of Iodoral daily? Do you mean the 12.5 size tablet? If it was me, I would take more , as iodine is needed in every part of the body, not just the thyroid. Blood goes through the thyroid about every 18 minutes, so its good you are taking iodine and the companion nutrients. Eating an organic diet as much as possible is also a good idea, as is giving up gluten found in breads, pastries, pastas. Keeping your diet clean, drinking lots of pure water and taking iodine is the way I would go Remember, thyroid nodules are usually not cancerous, but doing these things will be so helpful 'just incase' yours is. Also, anytime we have nodules, it's the bodies way of asking for more iodine.
