Guest guest
If you have absorption problems, you would probably benefit the most from a Vit. D spray that you use on the inside of your cheeks. the mucosal tissue there absorbs it very well. I think dr. Mercola sells it or my parents sell a brand of it that my mother gives me. If your Vit. D level is a 1.25 as it seems you are saying, that is really, really low. The accepted norm is about 35, but most natural practicioners want it at 75 or higher. It is really hard to use it to a toxic level. Vit. D is essential to over 100 processes in the body so many things cannot improve if your D is so low! Absorption problems can be from either Leaky Gut syndrome with a food allergy/intolerance problem, or another reason can be too low of good bacteria in the gut, or also too low of stomach acid. I am sure that there are other issues, but for my dd it happened to be dietary- first dairy, now gluten. So improving her gut will improve her absorbtion. I'm active in the HPTH group and have learned lots since, including using Iodoral 50 instead of 12.5 as the doc wanted! Of course I take calcitroil, Ca+ & Mg+. But I am struggling a great deal with a sinking Vit D 1,25 level. My Ca+ level is OK though. I ma checked very regularly. It is way below where it should be and I believe it is directly related to the HPTH. I believe I may have an absorption problem. I have several allergy tests, including the finger stick most recently and now am on a fairly conservative low carb , no sugar diet. Any suggestions, ideas, etc would be most welcomed! I am very open to using nutrients and supplements. Since I have two paras left, I would love to find a way to "challenge" them to see if they could wake up again and get back to functioning. My ENDO seems to think they won't because I have had several very low CA+ levels and they did not kick in at those times. BUT I think they could be just suppressed by the calcitroil and so they are "sleeping" and have no need to do anything but lay there. There was one woman on the HPTH list who worked with a doctor at Mayo Clinic. With the use of about 15 supplements she was able to get her paras to restart after about 15 years of being dormant. That gives me great hope still! Thanks again for any ideas on this issue.... It's still radioactive iodine. I-123 with a half life of 36 hours. You radiate all around you. They tell you its no big deal but it is. You cannot ingest radiation and expect good results. It's just not possible. > >
