Guest guest
Linn, I agree with you. When I first found out I had adrenal fatigue, I was using iodine. I don't think it hurt me one bit to use the iodine and I think it probably helped a great deal. If you need to detox from the bromide, and the like, then it makes sense to take care of that problem as well as the others. I'm sure there are people who can't tolerate it though, but I would imagine they are in the minority. IIRC, the owner of the adrenals list was EXTREMELY ill from AF and a few other things. Makes sense she couldn't tolerate it. One other thing; she cites a research paper on Hashi's in Japan and the high rate, believing that too much iodine can cause Hashi's. I'd like to point out that this is only ONE study and the author made that conclusion based on that one paper, which I've read. There is at least one other study I came across that completely invalidated that other study. The author of this other paper (it's in the Brownstein book on iodine) found that fishermen had Hashi's in high proportions; but residents in the town also had Hashi's and they were getting the same amount of iodine as the fishermen. One of the problems with that first study is that Hashi's has increased dramatically around the entire world; to me, that also invalidates that study. Also, I'm happy to announce that my temps that were running about 96.7; finally this a.m. it was at 98 - must be doing something right! I'm thinking that maybe I'm finally detoxed enough from the bromide, etc. like Brownstein said, you wake up one morning and find your temps are back to normal. I'm almost there. Basal temp should be 98.2 right?ArielOn Fri, Jan 28, 2011 at 11:04 AM, Linn <linnmiller@...> wrote: I disagree, there are lots of folks that have taken iodine and healed adrenal problems at the same time. Yes, iodine increses your temps, and may eventually mean you will need less NTH. You might want to consider putting the iodine on the shelf, for now.Concentrate on healing your adrenals, (so they can handle the detoxing stress) and working up to the 'right' dose of NTH. Then get the iodine back off the shelf. If it then causes a raise in temps, (after you've gotten them stabilised and at around 98.6), you can slightly reduce your NTH.Obviously, eventually you can wean off the adrenal support, and, perhaps wean of the NTH and just go with the Iodine. But thats way down the road, and you have to take it,....one,.....step,....at,....a,....time.Jim > > > > Hi > > > > I have now 'hit' 50mg of iodine. I think when I mentioned iodine they may have been derailed, but I didn't bump the question either. > > > > Any ideas why my temp is high? > > > > Jaye > > > -- Ariel MonserratPublisher & Managing EditorGreen Egg zinewww.greeneggzine.com
