Sibling Panel Discussion - Lucas County

Diane Frazee will be leading a sibling panel presentation at the monthly Lucas County MRDD Superintendent's Forum. Diane has lined up a diverse group of brothers and sisters who are willing to share the good, the bad & the ugly about life with a sib who has disabilities. (It's usually quite eye-opening for parents!) We invite you to join us for this intriguing and thought-provoking discussion from the 'other side' of the issue. We also want the sibs to have a responsive audience! Maybe your own children would like to hear that they're not the only ones who feel the way they do? Bring them - this might turn into something very special!

Tuesday, August 14, 2007 7:00 p.m. Lott Industries, 1645 Holland Road in Maumee (between Dussel & downs) RSVP's are only necessary for onsite child care. RSVP's for childcare need to go to Lon at 419 380 4048.

The Arc of Ohio believes that an essential aspect of a “self-determined†life for individuals with disabilities and their families is to effectively plan for a personalized future and ensure that services and supports are responsive to that vision. Individuals and families are called upon to participate in formal “transition†planning meetings periodically during an individual’s life i.e. early childhood to pre-school, pre-school to school, school to adulthood, therefore it is important that a future be visualized and then planned for by the individual, family and planning team.
